Large room, quite location, friendly staff

Well, the title says it all from my 2 night visit. Welcomed at 6pm and after a speedy check in was in my large room on the 4th floor. I was reminded that I hadn't booked breakfast (true, i rarely bother) without feeling this was a 'sell' comment. Room was spacious, twin (together) and a single. Comfy sofa to watch TV from, coffee table, small desk, full size fridge and ample tea/coffee facilities. No evening meal here, so I asked at reception where I might get a snack and received very helpful directions. Room cleaned well on arrival and on day two (actually adhering to the 'if I hang my towel I am happy to use it again' suggestion, so often ignored at other hotels). Bed on the firm side (as I prefer) and I had to take two pillows of another bed as I like a 'big pillow'. Room so quite and a joy to have a good nights sleep in london and be woken gently with the dawn. Room had air con, but didn't use it, as I left the 3 windows open all night. i would stay here again, and if I had time (this was a busy working trip) would try breakfast. Checkout quick and no hassle. Only one lift to top floor, but never had to wait longer than it getting to the floor from reception. Decor a little tired, but I suspect not unusual for many similar hotels.

I've been a fan of the London Guards for a number of years now. I'm in London every year on business in November and have stayed here now for I believe 7-8 years in a row. Before that I used to stay at the Green Park Hilton for several years and even the Ritz on one occasion. London Guard is a great hotel for its price and excellent location as all here will attest in their reviews. Like any hotel stay one can have an abnormal experience but in my rather long time continuum staying here, I have no complaints. Just don't compare it to hotels outside it's category. It's a solid 3 star.

Dear Georgiana,
Thank you for another great stay at the London Guards.   Your staff are always welcoming, courteous, and helpful and we really appreciate the fact that our request for our favourite room 306 has always been met by your ever helpful staff.  The room is so familiar to us now, it makes each visit really feel like a 'home from home'.  Regarding room cleanliness, we have never experienced any problems, with the room always being spotless and immaculately prepared by your cleaning staff.     I feel your hotel offers very good value for money, as it's in a great location and has genuine character.  We'd choose that any day over a bland Travelodge type hotel, which while being cheaper, just doesn't interest us at all!   We've recommended London Guards to friends on a number of occasions in the past, and I know some have been in contact with you to book, but unfortunately you had no vacancies at the time.  We'll certainly continue recommending you in the future.   So thank you again for another really enjoyable stay and you can rest assured ...... we'll be back!!!

After having stayed twice for almost 2 weeks total, I find that London Guards Hotel compares quite favorably with the other two (Best Western Delmere and Mornington) that I have stayed at in the area. Both of these are more expensive, although the Delmere does have a jump if you are coming in for an overnight stay with a very early flight out in the morning.   Alex and the rest of the Front Desk crew were polite and helpful. The Breakfast crew was cheerful and friendly. The Cleaning staff was efficient and seemed quite good at getting the rooms cleaned without interfering with the guests coming and going. The one issue I had with a malfunctioning room safe was fixed by the Maintenance man as well.   Overall, I am pleased with my 2 experiences and when I can get back to London then I will stay at the London Guards Hotel.

Dear Ms Rosoi,

Thank you for your e-mail.   I enjoyed my stay at the London Guards Hotel and I would certainly stay again. Often, I stay with a friend whe I am stayng in London, but when I need a hotel, I would stay again at the Guards Hotel. The hotel was clean and tidy and staff were helpful. The member of staff on at breakfast was attentive to the tables and breakfast selection, clearing when necessary and checking the breakfast table.   I would recommend the Guards Hotel as, especially for its location, it offers value for money. A short walk through the park and hotels are much more expensive. I liked the location, it was pleasant and so close to the Royal Albert Hall, but it is very peaceful and quiet.   Kind regards, Emma Bardsley

Dear Dr Rosoi,
I did enjoy my visit.   The hotel was exceptional value for money. The location was wonderful right opposite Hyde Park just near to a tube station and central for the city. The room was quite large, perfectly clean and the service from the reception desk was friendly and helpful. Free Wifi was a bonus and the fridge in the room was great for keeping drinks cool. I would definitely stay again and would recommend the hotel. The price I think did reflect the fact that the hotel is probably due for some updating but this was no problem and it was great to find such a bargain.   Kind regards Gill Quine

Good morning to all of you, We had a excellent stay: nice welcome when we came (smiling people, dedicated and helpful). My request was taken into consideration: Room M1 available since my last stay with my pupils march 24th. You did some paintings to improve the building. The sofas are very comfortable at the entrance + nice carpet and decoration. The breakfast is nice. the convenience into the room fine. We recommend the hotel to our friend and will book again next time. All the best Best regards Joël
